MacGregor Provincial Park - a recreational wonder near Port Elgin

Not far from Port Elgin along the shore of Lake Huron one can explore the Bruce in beautiful MacGregor Point Park

MacGregor Point Provincial Park is located 5 kilometres south of Port Elgin, off Highway 21. It is one of the most overlooked natural wonders along the Lake Huron shoreline and offers travelers experiences to remember.

MacGregor Point is part of a natural forested corridor that extends along the shore of Lake Huron. The park is a 1366 hectare parcel of land that consists of wetlands, former beach ridges, sand dune and forest communities. It is a haven to over 105 migratory birds, nesting warblers and songbirds. This varied forest habitat has helped some southern species such as the Red-bellied Woodpecker, Blue-grey Gnatcatcher and Carolina Wren extend their range northward. MacGregor Point Provincial Park also has 9 different species of snakes and 3 species of turtles.

Visit MacGregor Point year round. Large campsites welcome you no matter what the season; and if you don't have a tent or trailer, try a yurt. Winter can be magical in the park; but it has to be experienced firsthand. Whether you are out for the day or staying overnight, remote stretches of windswept shoreline, trials, campsites and programs designed to pique your curiosity will make your visit memorable.
