How To Spice Up Your Bedroom Using Feng Shui

Can't seem to land a date? Take a long hard look at your bedroom setup. Do you have only one bedside table? Is your bed pushed up against your wall? Is your closet messy? If so, single friend, you may unknowingly be crushing your abilities to attract a mate.

Feng Shui is the Chinese philosophy of design and arrangement that's meant to facilitate the flow of positive energy, there are many rules to keep in mind when planning your bedroom space. Within feng shui, the bedroom is the most important room in your house because you spend most of your life in there. If you're going to spend some time and money, that's a great place to invest in yourself to make it a relaxing oasis, your nest, your place that you love.

Below are some great tips on how to create the perfect bedroom, which will help you find the love that you're looking for.

1. Get rid of all the clutter. That means getting rid of the junk in your closet, drawers and under your bed. This includes more than physical clutter, but also cleaning up old relationships and letting go of stuff, thoughts, patterns in our lives."
2. Stand in your bedroom doorway and look to the far, back, right-hand corner of the room. What do you see there? What feeling does that corner give you? It's important, because that's the relationship area of your room."What we want is a feeling of love, good feelings, happy feelings," she says. If the corner is messy, clean it up and then place items there that will "activate the energy." Fresh flowers are a good choice, because they bring a "delightful, life-giving energy. If it's dark, add a lamp with soft lighting. Pairs of things are great for this corner, so consider adding two candles or two hangings. Also, consider adding a loving colour to the corner, whether it be with red or pink paint or items that represent love.
3. Whether you're looking for love or are in a relationship, it's a good idea to get rid of anything distracting. That means you should give TVs and computers the boot, or at least hide them.
4. How big is your bed? If it's a king-sized, you may want to downsize to a queen. "King-sized beds have a split down the middle where the box springs are two separate box springs, so that can create a split in a relationship.
5. Now that you have the right size of bed, invest in a big, solid headboard, especially if you're single. A solid board is better, so try to avoid iron beds and boards with wooden slats.
6. Move your bed away from the wall so that it's centred and not lined up with the doorway. If you were to draw a line through your doorway to the other wall, your bed shouldn't fall in that line," The furthest corner away from the door is usually a great spot, but, make sure it's not against the wall. Also, make sure there's nothing underneath your bed, as this may cause you to have a lot of baggage that you attract in a new relationship.
7. Now that you bed is in the correct spot, what's on your bed? Ratty old sheets may not be the way to go. Change your bedding to make it more romantic; use the colour red and invest in quality sheets.
8. Time for bedside tables. The rules are simple: make sure you have two, one on each side, and that they're exactly the same. If you have two tables that are different, then that will relate to how your relationship is going to be - one person may be dominant.
9. Last, consider adding dark colours to the room. This could be done with the use of paint, a comforter or pillows. Darker colours may be used in a bedroom because you're promoting coziness and good ability to sleep.
